Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used primarily in veterinary medicine to control parasitic infections. It works by disrupting parasite microtubule formation and energy metabolism, which can impair nutrient uptake and survival. Laboratory and preclinical research has also explored possible anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anti-cancer mechanisms, including effects on microtubules, glucose metabolism, and cell division.
